Over the past period my skin wasn’t at its best which really
frustrated me for a long time as I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong
since I haven’t changed my skin care routine for a while and up until that
moment everything was completely fine. But suddenly I started breaking out and
it really annoyed me. Seems like the problem was that I haven’t changed
anything for too long and my skin got tired of the same routine. One more thing
that contributed to it is the water intake which has decreased spontaneously.
For me it plays a big role in my skin care routine and I can see the difference
when I do and don’t drink enough water. But let’s get back to the products and
the routine.
My previous routine consisted of cleansing foam and clindamycin
lotion (which contains ethanol) for removing the makeup residue, a face cream
in the end and finito, nothing complicated. However, my, till that moment, dry
skin probably didn’t like the consistent use of ethanol so it decided to send
me a message in a form of pimples (lucky me, I know). I did my best not to
touch or squeeze them, I let them clear out on their own and it did help.
At the beginning of my ‘recovery’ process, I thought I would
use something more natural for removing makeup in order not to put as much
chemicals on my face. Coconut oil people. I’ve used it for years now in all
other purposes but for removing makeup. I put it on my fingers to melt it down
and then rub it on my face. The way it dissolves makeup is just incredible,
even the most stubborn mascara; wipe it with a cotton pad, repeat the process
and that is it, makeup is off. At first I only used face cream after that, but
over time I slowly introduced putting serum before it.
As the time went by, I could see the progress and I was so
happy about it. After I saw that the improvement is really there, I added a few
more steps which make my current night routine. Here it is, step by step:
__________________________________________________________________________________

1. The Face Shop Acne Solution Foam Cleansing used
with Balea Silicone Cleansing Face Pad
My first step towards a fresh and clean face. Small amount
of this foam is enough for the whole face, so it lasts really long. It removes
make up well, doesn’t irritate my face or eyes so I use it to remove eye makeup
too. The smell of it is pleasant, not too strong. I find that it doesn’t
completely remove full face of makeup, so additional steps after it are needed.
I mostly use it if I have heavier makeup on and I’m really satisfied with it
especially in a combination with this silicone cleansing pad.
Moj prvi korak ka svježem i čistom licu.
2. Virgin Coconut oil
As previously mentioned, this is my absolute favourite. Its
dissolving power is amazing and it removes all invisible makeup residue. I melt
a certain amount among my fingers, rub it on my face, make a panda of myself
and then wipe it with a cotton pad. You’ll be surprised how well it does the
job! Skin feels so soft and nice after it. I love coconut so I enjoy the smell
of it.
Inače obožavam kokos i uživam u njegovom mirisu.
3. Dr. Hauschka Clarifying Toner (optional)
This is something I started using just recently as I wanted
to try out this sample for a while and see if it works for me. At first I was
afraid how my skin will react to it, but so far I’m satisfied. I had no
irritations or any kind of reactions, I’m only getting used to the smell which
isn’t so unpleasant, only weird let’s say. I haven’t noticed any big changes so
far but it’s pleasant for my skin when I want to do that extra step. Also, I
believe that the amount of time I’ve been using it isn’t long enough to create
a strong opinion about it.
4. No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum
Lately I’ve been getting compliments I look younger, so
round of applause for this one! Usually it’s recommended to start using anti
age products after the age of 25, but my forehead wrinkles wouldn’t agree. I’m
loving this product and so does my skin. It is lightweight and moisturizing,
leaving the skin super soft and smoothened. I mostly use it at night, but it
turned out to be a good base for make up too, so I sometimes use it as a primer
as it’s not greasy at all. It smells nice and mild. I recommend this one with
all my heart.
Miriše lijepo i blago. Od sveg srca vam ga preporučujem.
5. Eucerin pH5 Skin-Protection Cream
The one I always get back to. Ok, this sounded too romantic
for a face cream maybe. Anyway, it is my all-time favourite. No matter which
ones I try meantime, I always end up buying this one as a safe solution. I use
it throughout the whole year; it is lightweight enough for the summer yet it
gives me the much need hydration, even during the winter months. It’s great for
sensitive skin, it has never caused me any break outs which is why I always go
back to it. It’s not greasy so I sometimes apply it in the morning too, when I
feel like I need a bit more hydration. The smell of it isn’t medical so it
shouldn’t bother you at all, it’s pretty mild. Definitely all-time favourite.

you make in your routine? Let me know what works best for you. :)
